The pilot is the safety system
Tandem pilots hold specific qualifications beyond a solo licence. Ask which qualification your pilot holds and how long they have flown the site. A good operator answers immediately.
Equipment
Expect a helmet, a certified tandem harness and a reserve parachute. Expect a pre-flight check of harness, carabiners and lines in front of you, every time.
Conditions
Wind strength and direction relative to the launch slope, thermal activity and cloud all decide whether a flight goes ahead. Midday thermals near mountains can be strong; morning and late-afternoon air is usually smoother.
Your part
- • Declare medical conditions, recent surgery, back and neck problems and pregnancy honestly
- • Give your real weight
- • Follow the launch instruction — keep walking until the pilot says stop
- • Lift your legs for landing when told
What we will not claim
We do not publish pilot licence details, insurance cover or any safety record until confirmed in writing. Those items are listed as pending on our safety page.
