Paragliding Marrakech: A Complete Beginner's Guide

Tandem paragliding requires no training and no jumping. You walk off a slope attached to a pilot and a wing that is already flying. This guide covers the rest.

How tandem flying works

The pilot flies; you are a passenger in a seat harness in front of them. The wing inflates behind you, you take a few steps down the slope, and the harness takes your weight. There is no drop and no freefall.

Getting to the launch

Flying sites are outside Marrakech, so factor in a road transfer. Booking a package with hotel transfer included saves negotiating a return taxi from a hillside.

What to wear

  • • Trainers or hiking shoes with grip
  • • Long trousers
  • • A windproof layer — it is cooler with altitude
  • • Sunglasses and sunscreen

Limits you should check first

Every tandem wing has a weight range, and operators set age limits and medical restrictions. Ask before you book, especially about weight — it is the most common reason a booking cannot be honoured on the day.
